Natalie No Longer A Rogue Trader

Many people know that the Rogue Traders started out as a house music duo who achieved success on the local club scene. Then Natalie Bassingthwaighte came along and turned them not only mainstream, but a big smash in the gay scene.

Now she’s announced that she’ll be leaving the band for good to pursue a solo career. Could this mean a return to their previous incarnation? Perhaps.

Bassingthwaighte, who hosted Australia’s first season of reality TV show So You Think You Can Dance? this year, has relocated to Los Angeles. Commenting on her departure, Rogue Traders mainman James Ash remarked; “As Nat’s career choices are taking her in new and exciting directions, she won’t be able to be a part of the Rogue Traders. We part company as best friends, with a deep love and respect for each other and what we have achieved over the last three and a half years.”

So what does the future hold for the Rogue Traders? Ash was rather cryptic. “Rogue Traders has always been a project in transition: Beginning as a DJ duo (and) transforming into an international pop act. With phase two coming to a close, phase three of Rogue Traders is about to begin and most, literally, won’t see it coming.”

CARE FACTOR ZERO! Though she did warm up on SYTYCD after a couple of episodes and in the end I quite liked her. She wears great shoes.

Natalie makes very good choices. Lets just hope that she sticks to singing tho. That Minnie mouse speaking voice of hers is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. I had to watch most of 'SYTYCD with the sound turned down when she came on.

who gives a hoot? the rogue traders blow harder than a homeless guy trying to earn a sandwhich!!! any ol music junkie can steal a riff and sing poorly to it, and her live performances made me want to wash my ears out with plastic explosives afterwards!
