Get Set For Our Next Culture Club Event!
Lands End is the amazing new show by world leader in puppetry and theatre illusion, Philippe Genty. We’re so thrilled about it, that we’re making it our next Same Same Culture Club event in Melbourne, and best of all, you’re all invited!
The show tells the story of a meeting between two people in a landscape of kaleidoscopic dreams. Conjuring a series of enigmatic characters and deeply moving vignettes, Lands End takes audiences to the far reaches of the imagination, unfolding one stunning image after another. A woman dances with a giant insect, which has an unsettling human face; a man searches through a towering bank of billowing clouds made of plastic bags; the couple transform into ten-foot high puppets whose limbs are manipulated into a tender embrace by the entire company.
From illusion to reality, Compagnie Philippe Genty travels through a universe where absurd, derisive, cruel images fit into a method of association without narrative logic, as in a dream.
According to Paris Capitale magazine, “To miss a new work by Philippe Genty is to miss out… pure poetry, life-saving grace, and delight for both the eyes and the heart.”

We think it will be a brilliant show to check out as a group. We’ll be heading along to the Friday, August 15 performance. Join us for drinks beforehand from 7pm at the beautiful EQ bar, conveniently located on the Southbank side of Hammer Hall. Tell those winter blues to take a hike, get to know some of your fellow Same Samers a bit better, and soak up some of the best culture in the world!
If you want to come along, click here to register your interest before August 5. We’ll then be in touch with you to organise a group booking so we’ll all be sitting together. We’ll also be getting a reduced rate, which we’ll confirm with you then.
