Slippery Business
Sexual health experts say water-based lubes are better than oil-based, but what about steroid based lube?
Australian customs has seized over 150 bottles labelled ‘Gay Lube Oil’ containing illegal liquid steroids, and they’re calling the deceptive smuggling a ‘highly sophisticated’ venture.
“We found that we weren’t dealing with an oil at all,” said a customs official this morning. “I think that they’re going for the presumption that Customs won’t examine the goods, mainly because we may actually think it’s gay lube oil.”
“They might think we won’t examine it because… it’s a bit yucky or whatever,” said Customs worker Richard Janeczko to LiveNews this morning.
Authorities reportedly began to get suspicious when the popularity of the lube suddenly increased. Orders have been confiscated in five states across the country.
A number of prosecutions are expected to come out of the seizure and customs is said to be working with the Thai government to stop any further shipments entering Australia.
It seems the packaging didn’t just confuse Customs, but those who had ordered the performance enhancing testosterone and Deca Durabolin, as a discussion on a bodybuilding internet forum indicates:
Person 1: Just giving you guys some info. I ordered 3 20ml satchets from a well-known source. I ordered from them this time last year and had no problems. Instead of getting what I ordered this time, I got gay lube oil in the mail.
Person 2: Maybe you should try putting some on your stick and having a go with a grapefruit to see if it works.
Person 3: Isn’t this a “new” way to get through customs? I thought I read it somewhere else.
Person 4: Sounds kinda stupid. But what does it smell/taste like?
Person 1: (realising his mistake)... It’s legit stuff. It’s colour coded… I got everything.
Person 2: That’s what I said in my first post, you should have just read into it more instead of taking it literally.
Person 5: This thread makes me laugh and is also very informative to Customs. Should probably be deleted.
Person 4: I second deleting it.
Smuggling drugs into Australia can lead to fines of up to $110,000 and a prison sentence of up to five years.
