What Scratched The Same Same Itch Last Month?
It was a heated month on Same Same in July, with the Pope and the pilgrims getting us all a little hot under our collective collar.
The ungrateful pilgrims who told their gay billet that he would “burn in hell” was the top story of the month. Coverage of our anti-Pope ‘black campaign’ took out the third and fifth spots, and the Pope’s sneaky ciggies took out seventh place.
The announcement of Demelza as Australia’s Next Top Model was the second most read story in July, with many dishing out some unforgiving words about her bullying of competitor Alamela. Fellow co-star Ian Thorpe came in at number four. Many – including us – were expecting his latest beau to be the coming out story of the year. Alas, we were wrong.
News that we may be one step closer to a vaccine for HIV was the eighth most read story, while the number ten spot went to our story about Peter Lloyd, the Aussie journalist who has found himself on the wrong side of the law in Singapore.
