Mardi Gras Festival Applications Now Open
The Mardi Gras Festival season is the brightest, diverse and most exciting three weeks on Sydney’s events calendar, filling our theatres, bars, galleries – sometimes even toilet blocks – with a variety of events, showcasing the best local and international gay, lesbian and queer talent.
Applications are now open for those of you who want to be part of the 2009 Festival season. The festival itself will run from February 14 to March 7 and applications close September 26, 2008.
The structure of the 2009 festival continues in much the same way as this year’s. The youth festival will be back, and will again be managed by Twenty10. Mardi Gras will be running their Theatre Project initiative again, after a very successful run last season, with shows like Cary Curran’s Cary From the Cock and Two Old Queens.
The Festival Bar will be back at Will And Toby’s next year too. It’s not yet confirmed whether the Mardi Gras Art Gallery will run for a second time next year – stay tuned.
