Matthew Mitcham Misses Out

20 year old gay diver Matthew Mitcham scraped through last night to compete in the 3m springboard diving semi-finals today, however he didn’t make the cut for the finals, ranking 16th out of 18. Fellow Aussie Robert Newbury will be competing, he came in at 11th place.
Of course, it’s not all done and dusted for Matthew yet. He still has the 10m Platform Diving to go later this week, a division in which he recently came first, at the 2008 FINA Diving Grand Prix in Fort Lauderdale.
The 10m Platform Diving Preliminary is this Friday, August 22, from 9pm AEST (7pm Beijing Time). He’s number 29 on the start list. The Semifinal takes place the following day, Saturday Aug 23, midday AEST (10am Beijing Time) and the Final kicks off that evening from 10pm AEST (8pm Beijing Time).
