Australia's Next Top DJs
Last night Same Same’s big brother InTheMix announced the results of their annual national DJ poll. The awards were held at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory and were hosted by none other than lady of the moment Ruby Rose.
More than 20,000 devoted dance music fans voted this year, an all time record and increase of 31%. It’s been the most successful poll in its six year history and undeniable proof that Australia’s burgeoning dance is bigger and better than ever before.
21 year old Queensland prodigy Tydi came in at top place, and electro house chart toppers The Potbelleez came in at number five.
The only gay DJ in the national list – that we’re aware of anyway – is Queensland’s much loved Neroli, who came in at number 34.
Each state has their top ten as well. Neroli ranked eighth in QLD, in SA DJ Lou Lou came sixth and DJ JoSH came second, and in the ACT Tori Mac came in second place.
Congratulations to all the winners! Check out the full list of results here.
