Idols Just Want To Have Fun

Just a few months after she was last on our shores to appear at the 30th anniversary of Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, pop idol Cyndi Lauper is coming back to Australia.

Lauper will be the special guest star on Australian Idol this Sunday, performing “Time After Time” and mentoring the Idols. With the average age the youngest ever on the show, it will be interesting to see how much they know about Lauper. “Because I have studied singing most of my life, naturally I can look at them and figure out what it is that they need to do,” Lauper said. “I am doing it to help the ones who really want to sing.”

Her return to Australia is aimed at kick-starting the Idol ratings, which slipped to third place this week behind 60 Minutes and Dancing with the Stars, with 1.14 million viewers nationally.

Lauper is promoting her new, great album “Bring Ya To The Brink” that is receiving rave reviews.

i have all the time in the world for cyndi - she's the real deal. a woman who fights for the underdog, has a conscience and who uses her influence for good.

Cyndi is the best! I would so love to go and see her but no tickets are available. I know, i know, hanging out with all the tweens will be a struggle, but to see cyndi again would be worth it. Anyone know of how to get ticets? Or if she is doing anything else whilst she is here?
