Sunrise Go Gaga Over Miming

A “live” performance by Lady Gaga of “Just Dance” went pear shaped today on Channel 7’s Sunrise causing the show to issue an apology to its viewers.

Lady Gaga’s first performance got off to a shaky start this morning when the new singer struggled through a pretty obviously lip-synched version of her hit song with her real voice coming through under the pre-recorded version.

“It was the worst ‘live’ performance I have ever seen,” wrote Courier Mail blogger Candi. “It was so bad, Mel and Kochie actually had to apologize profusely to viewers for letting them down with a ‘not entirely live’ performance.”

Sunrise Executive Producer Adam Boland issued a statement today. “This morning’s performance from Lady Gaga was obviously not live. That is a clear breach of Sunrise policy on music performances. We’d like to apologise for the segment and assure you we view the breach extremely seriously.”

Lady Gaga herself has even weighed into the debate, denying that she was miming. “I was sick the day of the show but I absolutely, 100% was singing live. I have never lip-synced and never will. Even on my worst day, I never will.”

hmm...i love this rule that disposable popstars think it's alright to lip sync? I'm just waiting till the day that i can do my job but not actually do anything...i'll sit at my desk simulating work and it will be a-okay.

now sunrise are saying she's back tomorrow to explain what happened. but i saw another review that claimed she was miming in her sydney gig at the art factory. was anyone there?

She was awful on Rove last night IMO. She shouldn't jump around so much if it affects her vocal like it seemed to...

I think you have to make a choice to either sing live and don't jump around so much, or do lots of dance moves and mime. It's hard to maintain a strong and consistant voice when you exert yourself so much. But she's on there to sing so she should leave the dancing to her backup girls.

The album is absolutely awesome and I do feel sorry for her that she f'd up so badly with the lip synching.
