Wildlife Is Back, Suckers!

Wildlife, Sydney’s New Year’s Eve party that breathed life back into the last night of the year and took the dancefloor into the jungle, is back!

Check out Morgan Carpenter’s shots from last year’s Wildlife.

We all know the suburbs can be dead after dark, but never like this. On December 31 this year, Wildlife is taking the Hordern Pavilion on a trip deep into disturbria in true nouveau-riche style.

Wildlife 2008 is presented by Fag Tag, Fuzzy and New Mardi Gras and the theme for this year is “Transylvania Waters”. Get ready to sink your teeth into a night of supernaturally good music

Leading the charge on NYE is British wonderkid Calvin Harris. Harris co-wrote and co-produced some of the best tracks on Kylie’s latest album, including In My Arms and Heartbeat Rock and recently took out the #1 single in the UK with Dizzee Rascal, Dance Wiv Me. His modern electronic sound was showcased on his Top 10 album I Created Disco which included the Generation Y anthem, Acceptable In The 80s. After touring with Groove Armada and Faithless, Harris will be served piping hot as a DJ at Wildlife.

Joining Calvin Harris is superstar DJ David Morales. This Grammy Award-winning producer and DJ is one of most prolific remixers of all time. His seminal work with Mariah Carey, who he has worked with a almost every stage of her career, as well as Madonna, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, U2, The Spice Girls and others has won him almost every award worth winning. His own productions like Needing U have won him millions of fans around the world.

The original diva, Barbara Tucker is back. Her live performances are the stuff of legends. She’s had hits in the 1990s ( Beautiful People, Everybody Dance ) and 2000s ( Most Precious Love ) and has travelled the world over and over again from Russia to Sweden, to Africa and back. Barbara has toured with and recorded vocals for Moby, Pet Shop Boys, Dee-lite and Wyclef Jean and holds a summer residency in Ibiza. For NYE 2008, Barbara Tucker is going to raise the roof of the Hordern off with her powerful vocals.

Crowd favourite DJs Alan Thompson and Alex Taylor will be joining the line up, along with a coffin load of dancers, live and not so live shows, and super hot lighting and décor.

Tickets to Wildlife 2008 – the party where everybody sucks – go on sale at midday on Wednesday October 22. First release tickets are $99 (including booking fee) whilst stocks last, second release tickets are $125.
