Todd McKenney Gets Off

The GHB drugs charge against Todd McKenney has been dropped, NSW police have just revealed.

“Following the receipt of legal advice, police have determined the prospect of a conviction is remote and proceedings will not continue,” the spokeswoman told AAP today. “Police have withdrawn the charges.”

You can’t help but wondering if McKenney’s celebrity status helped keep it out of court.

McKenney was charged with possession of the drug gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB) back in April this year. The Dancing With the Stars judge and radio show host allegedly had the equivalent of ten doses of the drug in his pocket when he was discovered unconscious in a park over the Anzac Day long weekend.

McKenney has maintained his innocence throughout speaking publicly soon after, claiming that his drink was spiked and that the drugs were planted on him.

In his statement to police he also mentioned that he’d taken his pants off at a party and had changed into a pair of shorts that he’d borrowed from a friend, because he was overheating from dancing. He thinks this is when the drugs were slipped into his pants pocket.

To make matters worse, McKenney was on a good behaviour bond at the time for drink driving.

Of course, and reflecting on behaviour is not a reflection on people :rolleyes: Behaviours are actions of people, and as you've indicated beat users are people who are contemptibly desperate because of their apparently repugnant behaviour (putting them on par with pedos, rapists and other sex offenders no doubt). Thanks, got it ;) There you go again. Making up words that I've NEVER written. Beat sex is not a 'repugnant' behaviour. It is a behaviour based on impulse. Impulses are borne of desperation. Desperation is natural, but the expression of desperation shouldn't impact upon members of the public where sex is concerned. Desperation is not 'contemptable'. I never said it ever was. I've worked out what complex you have. You have a 'mission' complex. You only feel empowered when championing a mission that leaves you in a position of intellectual 'one-upmanship'. You remind me of one of my former patients.

Visions of grandeur is a problem for some people quite obviously. But judging a person based on what they read in a local rag and then duelling with forum members on here by tossing around a fw words is well.... being a tosser :)
