Start 2009 in the worst possible taste! (We say that with a lot of love in our voice.) Go and see I Am Glace Chase at Belvoir Street Theatre.

Expect the unexpected as this post-punk-glam-bipolar ex-child star tears across the stage and takes no prisoners! You’ve read his advice column on Same Same (we take no responsibility for the advice given), you saw his drunken ramblings at the Melbourne Cup, you watched him saunter down the Divas red carpet last year. Now take your seat for an in your face, darkly humourous and oddly poignant evening of Glace Chase, a man who has been described as “the Dame Edna for GenXYZ”.

I Am Glace Chase plays at Downstairs Belvoir St Theatre from 10 – 14 January. Tickets are $29 for adults, $23 for concession, $25 for group bookings.

Asher you obviously know nothing about the show or what Glace is about... Nothing to do with being gay nor nothing to do with Humphreys... Glace is beyond definition.. those who came along tonight laughed themselves stupid over so many things in the act. There is no possible wya you can place a judgement on Glace until you see the show for yourself. There is nothing to do with cashing in on being gay. His sexuality is really nobodys business as its a performance... I laughed my ass of when I first saw him at Mardi Gras 07 as the crowd cringed thru so many cringe moments only to be slapped with some genuine heartfelt dribble...

Now that I'm in the show and know Glace even better and see the reactions from the crowd I love him even more for being so unique and bum bittingly hilarious...

Come along Ash and see for yourself before you make assumptions and try to dissect the act like a social worker. :) I can honestly say I would not lend my performance skills to some barry humphrey clone as I only tend to work with unique, vibrant performers who bring something new to the table... :)

The best way to see a Glace show is to have no expectations and just roll with it I mean it is entertainment afteral and so funny I find it hard not to laugh on stage with him..
Why do you think a comparison with Barry Humphreys/Dame Edna to be an insult? I'm not having a go at Glace Chase at all. Just working out how a 20 year-old could be so good at such a young age...
