Bingay is celebrating Seniors Week with Big Senior Bingay. Can you think of anything more camp? We didn’t think so.

It’s an official Seniors Week event, and is being put together by ACON and the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care. It will be hosted by Bingay favourites Mitzi Macintosh and her all-singing barrel girl, Naomi Palmer.

The event is free and will include three hours of games with weird rules, sing-a-longs and penalties plus a steady stream of delectable cakes, biscuits and savoury snacks.

“NSW has a significant older GLBT population,” says ACON CEO Stevie Clayton. “In fact, about 35,000 people in NSW over the age of 55 identify as gay or lesbian.

“They play a vital and valued role in our community… However, Big Senior Bingay is not just for our golden queers. Anyone is welcome to come along and join in the fun – old, young, gay or straight, we don’t discriminate!”
