The University of NSW and La Trobe University are working together on a new research project which seeks to follow the social and sexual lives of gay and bisexual men in Australia.

It’s called Myriad: The 10,000 Men Project. At the moment they’re conducting a pilot survey which will help them plan the large scale online study to follow. Their goal is to eventually recruit up to 10,000 men, which would make it the largest study of its type ever conducted in Australia.

Those who go on to participate in the full-study will be required to answer a questionnaire every six months. Myriad researchers want to compare the results as time goes on to map change and predict future trends.

As the full study is yet to commence, there’s still time for you to contribute your ideas and help to shape the study. The research team is keen to hear any ideas or suggestions people may have in terms of motivating and engaging respondents, as well as which health and lifestyle issues to include in the full study.
