Gateaux Superstars!
Bobby Goldsmith Foundation, Australia’s oldest HIV charity, have announced that their annual fundraiser, the BGF Bake Off, will this year be moving away from the strip, to Paddington Town Hall, Sunday May 17.
Over 1000 people attended last year’s Bake Off, which raised over $43,000, with the largest single bid being $6500 for Glen Lewis’ Best In Show winner The Joker.
This year BGF have introduced a new category – Best Fete Baking. “Drag out all your retro recipes for coconut ice, toffees, chocolate slices, chocolate crackles, pikelets and all those old favorites that were around when BGF first started in 1984,” says the charity in a statement.
Other categories are Best Cake, Best Cake (Professional), Best Decorated Cake, Best Preserves (Jams and Pickles), Best Tart, Best Non-edible Cake.
Doors open from noon, viewing from 2pm, auction from 4pm sharp.
If you want to take part, click here to submit your application online. You have until 5pm Wednesday May 13. Entries need to be delivered to the Paddington Town Hall by 10am on the day of the event. Please make sure all cakes are firmly attached to a base so they don’t slip off and can be easily transported.
