Last night Bruno The Movie had its Australian premiere at Sydney’s State Theatre. The red carpet was rolled out for Sacha Baron Cohen’s alter ego, who arrived dressed in shining armour, complete with a white horse.

Prior to Bruno’s arrival the red carpet was hi-jacked by a publicity stunt from fast food franchise Nando’s. A pink stretch Hummer pulled up and out stepped a Bruno impersonator, flanked by six female models. They then poured Nando’s peri-peri sauce all over themselves before being removed by security. The mess was cleaned up before Bruno’s arrival.
Baron Cohen has certainly gone all out to promote the film, travelling to seven countries over the past 18 days, with Sydney being his final destination.
Many Australian celebs turned up to see the film, including Rose Byrne, Brendan Cowell, Kate Ritchie and Kerri-Anne Kennerley. There was no sight of Baron Cohen’s Aussie fiancee half, Isla Fisher. According to News.com.au she was one of the topics off limits for journalists, as well as Michael Jackson’s death, which led to a scene being cut from the film featuring La Toya Jackson.
