Inquisition 'Not The Right Fit' For The Metro

Inquisition XVII, Sydney Leather Pride Association’s annual leather and fetish party, will be held on August 15 this year and while Sydney Leather Pride had originally hoped to host the party at The Metro on George Street, it’s now been confirmed that the party will be held at 202 Broadway and the adjacent venue The Landsdowne Hotel, Chippendale.

For years Inquisition XVII has been held at Entertainment Quarter, with the beating heart of the event taking place within The Dome.

In April this year Sydney Leather Pride were in negotiations with Century Venues, who manage The Metro, in the hopes of moving the event there.

“Unfortunately Senior Management has come back with a no to the Inquisition event. We just don’t think it is the right fit for the venue,” said a staff member who has since left the organisation.

Sam Nardo from Century Venues told Same Same that “we do not discriminate against any group or organisation at our venues.”

Same Same is seeking further comment from Century Venues and from Sydney Leather Pride.

So can someone describe this 202 venue ? how big etc maybe compare it to size of Dome ? anything smaller and dont think I would be interested. Metro is great but yeah pffffft to them.

The new venue at 202 Broadway is huge, brand new, and beautiful. It's not as expansive as the Dome, but it's got two areas - upstairs and downstairs - and then the entire Landsdowne next door. Woo to this! Looking forward to see what the Metro have to say for themselves.

thanks for that. And the dance floor area size ? loved Dome cause people could spill out to the sides and not be squashed.

@Please explain, why not go to 202 to find out for yourself rather than ask for everyone else to explain? There's Plus One tonight, and Horse Meat Disco on Sunday night.
