Last Summer, Same Same brought you Surf Camp – a fun romp through the beaches of Sydney that ended up attracting almost a quarter of a million views from all around the world by the time the Australian Summer was over.

This year we’re commencing production on our next, more ambitious project – and you’re invited to be a part of it. It is a short drama series set in inner-city Sydney, about the lives of a group of friends. Scripted by popular television writer Boaz Stark (ex Home and Away and Neighbours ), and produced and directed by Adam Jones, we are having a casting call for the main characters this weekend in Surry Hills. We are casting for the following characters:

AJ – gay male, 24 years-old. Artistic and impulsive, AJ has a knack for causing trouble with his out of control libido. He is intelligent yet flawed, loveable yet not to be trusted.

Chris – gay male, 30 years-old. A top lawyer, a shark in the courtroom but a failure at love. Chris is an old-fashioned romantic who only has eyes for the one guy that he can’t have.

Jake – gay male, 18 years old. Having just arrived in Sydney from Bega, Jake is given a rude awakening to the realities of gay life. Sweet, innocent, boyish and vulnerable, Jake’s natural good looks and country charm really set him apart.

Wilma Fingerdoo – gay male drag queen, 30+. Wilma has seen, heard, drunk, sorted and slept with everything that the gay scene has to offer, leaving her a little rough around the edges. Never seen out of drag, Wilma hides a vulnerable and loving nature behind a crude yet glittered exterior.

Actors and crew will be paid a day rate. We are also looking for experienced make-up artists and boom mike operators to work on set during August.
