Tahnee Atkinson was crowned the winner of Australia’s Next Top Model last night at the Luna Park Big Top. St Johns Ambulance had to rush onstage during an ad break to attend to the teenage model’s nosebleed, brought on by all the stress and drama of the evening.
While Cassi Van Den Dungen won the most votes from the show’s judges, it was the votes from viewers at home that got Tahnee over the line.

When asked to tell the audience why she thought she should be Australia’s Next Top Model, Tahnee said that she felt that she’d be a positive role model for young girls, given her curvaceous figure.
Tahnee was given the seal of approval from Sarah Murdoch, stylist Jonathan Pease and judge Charlotte Dawson. Overall it was Tahnee’s professionalism that won the judges over.
While Alex Perry voted for runner-up Cassi he also called her a “loose cannon” and Charlotte Dawson believed that Cassi’s relationship with her boyfriend was likely to be a career killer for her.
Entertainment was provided by Jessica Mauboy and Sacha Baron Cohen’s gay fashionista Bruno threw in his two cents as well via a pre-recorded message. According to AAP, Sex In the City’s Kristin Davis attended on the night.
Same Same’s person on the ground said that while they had a most wonderful night at the Live Finale and After Party, they felt that meeting the girls in person shattered much of the illusion that the show creates.
“We spoke to Clare and told her that she should have won. I hate to say, all the girls really lack charisma. What you see on TV and the characters you think they are are well crafted products. I was brought down to earth when I realised they really are 16 year old girls, who I would otherwise have nothing to say to!
“Cassi’s bogan boyfriend sat on the stairs during the telecast… Cassi’s mother tripped on her Alex Perry gown with a train, Sarah looked really scared when the nosebleed started and they got St John’s ambulance on stage during the break, and all the girls dug into the canapés at the afterparty like they had never eaten before, as well as the alcohol.”
While Cassi kept a smile on her face when it was announced that she had lost, our source said that when they left the venue at 11.30pm they saw a “clearly unhappy Cassi and posse waiting outside for a cab”.
