Who Really Is Australia's Next Top Model?
Isn’t it always the way? The reality TV runner up is often the one that has the better career. ‘Bogan’ model Cassi Van Den Dungen is being pursued by top New York model agency Elite, the agency that signs the winners of America’s Next Top Model.
The Herald Sun reports that Van Den Dungen, who is represented by Australia’s Priscilla’s Model Management, has been “inundated with emails and phone calls from New York” according to Leighton Clark, from Priscilla’s.
“Elite in New York are desperate to sign her,” Leighton Clark told the Herald Sun. “The phrase used was, ‘They are completely obsessed’. Contracts are with both parties.”
On the night of the Top Model final Van Den Dungen was frowned upon by the judges for her temper, her unprofessionalism and ambivalence. Charlotte Dawson said that she thought Cassi wanted a suburban life with her boyfriend more than a glamorous high fashion live overseas.
However, Leighton Clark said that Cassi is “made for high-end fashion” and that if she plays her cards right she could be the Alice Burdeau, the other Australia’s Next Top Model success story, who won the show in 2007.
