iOTA Joins Sleaze Line Up

New Mardi Gras has announced a hot new addition to their Sleaze Ball line up – the awesomely talented queer performer iOTA. The recording artist, member of the inaugural Same Same 25 list and star of the critically acclaimed Aussie production of Hedwig And The Angry Inch, and more recently The Rocky Horror Picture Show , will bring his amazing vocals and dramatic talents to one of the Sleaze shows.

A six time ARIA nominee with four albums under his belt along with his substantial theatrical experience, iOTA will be joining an already stellar Sleaze line up which includes Scissor Sisters’ tour DJ Sammy Jo, along with local favourite DJs Alex Taylor, Greg Boladian, Paul Goodyear, Feisty, Mandy Rollins, Scott Pullen and Sveta.

Three major shows are scheduled for the night, that will bring the Game On theme event to life. Other highlights include the Project Sleazeway, the annual costume competition, and a new performance space.

Tickets for the party have reportedly been selling twice as fast as previous years. Perhaps it’s the hot, sexy sports themed campaign?

Sleaze Ball 2009 is on October 3 at the Entertainment Quarter, Sydney.

I loove iOTA. I was so worried when I first heard there was to be an Australian production of Hedwig but he did a wonderful job and I ended up seeing it twice. Rocky was great, too. I think I'm skipping Sleaze this year, alas, to save money.

Yeah... iOTA is performing at Showqueen this week, along with Mark Trevorrow (aka Bob Downe) and James Millar. Trevor was a great host and James, iOTA and Mark all gave energetic, supremely entertaining performances. iOTA only did 2 songs, but they were both mesmerising - the whole Audience was captivated.... I can't wait to see his performance at Sleaze - no doubt it will be a polar opposite performance from last night's acoustic numbers... but without doubt we'll be left wanting more! Oh - and Mark Trevorrow's comedic timing is nothing short of genius. I wish I was Bob's lovechild with Coralie Hollow! ;)

I couldn't make it last night, but Trevor's just launched the new Showqueen website. Looking at the lineup, I think I know where I'll be every Sunday in September!

His first song was an original that was inspired by Joni Mitchell... not sure of the name..? Second song was a cover for Neil Young's Helpless - but he was actually covering the K.D. Lang version, with elements of Neil's original version as well. Both were superb :)

I couldn't make it last night, but Trevor's just launched the new Showqueen website. Looking at the lineup, I think I know where I'll be every Sunday in September! Trevor would like everyone to be aware that the website is best viewed on a Mac - apparently it looks shit on a PC (and I can confirm that!!) cause he designed it on a Mac! :D
