Australia, prepare to wet yourself (with both excitement and hilarity) – American humourist, author and three time Grammy Award Nominee, David Sedaris, is returning to Australia in January 2010.

With sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, David Sedaris has become one of America’s pre-eminent humour writers and is adored by Australian audiences.

He is the author of the bestsellers Barrel Fever and Holidays On Ice, as well as collections of personal essays, Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day and Dress Your Family In Corduroy And Denim. His essays appear regularly in Esquire and The New Yorker.

In 2001, David Sedaris became the third recipient of the Thurber Prize for American Humour. He was named by Time magazine as “Humorist of the Year” in 2001. His most recent collection is When You Are Engulfed In Flames and has become a bestseller all over the world.

With over seven million copies of his books in print (world wide), David Sedaris will perform his own style of spoken word at theatres in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Each performance is followed by a question and answer time with the audience and a book signing opportunity after the show.

It's not so much about him personally but it's who he is up against regarding the grammy's when it's peer voted and your up against giants like George Carlin no one else has much of a chance.... well maybe now that George is dead

I'm so happy that he is coming back again, I have met him on his last 2 trips to Australia and he is an absolute sweetheart!!
