Hard Rock Melbourne To Close

Positioned up the top of Bourke Street in the CBD, right opposite the Victorian State Parliament House and in the ritzy Hotel Windsor complex, Melbourne’s Hard Rock Cafe is set to close when its lease expires July this year.

The famed rock souvenir restaurant, where memorabilia from decade’s worth of rock and pop artists adorn the walls, is tipped to move to a new location in a more suitable location such as the Crown Casino now that the Hotel Windsor’s new operators have signalled that they wish for something new with the space.

One of three Hard Rock Cafes in Australia, the Melbourne chapter is possibly the least impressive, save for the “No Nuclear Weapons” neon sign above the door – especially fitting considering the location is right opposite the parliament house.

Workers are awaiting news from the U.S. headquarters as to if, where and when the Hard Rock Cafe is relaunched in Melbourne.

The Hard Rock Cafe is also at 121-129 Crown Street in East Sydney, and at the cnr of Cavill Ave and Surfers Paradise Blvd in Surfers.
