Sunshine Coast Fair Day

With the gorgeous weather at the moment, it’s not hard to find a reason to go and enjoy the Sunshine Coast. Just in case you needed another reason, QAHC is holding their second Sunshine Coast Pride Fair!

For those up for a mental challenge at the end of the week, Twisted Trivia kicks off at 7pm Friday evening at The Sands Tavern, Maroochydore. If you can’t handle the thought of thinking on a Friday arvo, never fear, Saturday sees a fun filled day of excitement for the whole family with The Pride Fair starting at 10am.

Hosted by the fabulous Miss Vanessa Wagner, The Pride Fair promises to be an event not to be missed. Packed with markets stalls and local community organisations to browse you can also have your face painted, ride the giant twister ride or check out the other attractions. If you need a bite during the day, you are sure to be well catered for – you can grab a sausage sizzle or check out the other amazing food stalls on offer. If after all that excitement you want to kick back and take it easy for a while, you will be entertained by some fantastic local artists including Breech Notice, Zia and the Brisbane Lesbian & Gay Pride Choir. Should the idea of coming back to reality not appeal to you, The Pride Fair also has that covered with their raffle featuring the chance to win some fantastic holidays at Sunshine Coast resorts and some deluxe pampering packs amongst other prizes.

Aside from the fun activities and entertainment on offer, The Pride Fair goes beyond simply being a place for LGBT people to spend time with family and friends in a supportive community environment. It’s also an opportunity to raise recognise and celebrate the diversity of the GLBT community. Coming together at the fair will be a range of gay friendly health services, performers and business as well as services offering information on health, sexuality and support which will provide an easy opportunity to gain some awareness of the businesses and services available in our community.

The Sunshine Coast Pride Fair runs from 10am til 4pm, Saturday 24th October at The Lake Kawana Centre, Sportsman Parade, Bokarina. Entry is a very GFC-friendly gold coin donation which includes heaps of fun and live entertainment. Twisted Trivia is at 7pm, Friday 23rd October at The Sands Tavern, Maroochydore.
