Top Model Friend Gay Bashed

Former contestant from Australia’s Next Top Model Lola Van Vorst found herself caught up in a homophobic assault in a car last Saturday.

News.com.au reports that Van Vorst was in her car with friends when a man smashed through the window of her Barina to attack her friend sitting inside, part-time model and musician Christian Love. According to Love the assault was homophobic, and was prompted by an earlier confrontation on the street.

“Love when (people) smash my car window so they can punch someone in the face,” wrote Van Vorst on her Facebook page this week. “Homophobic bastard! I’m fine but it’s just my 2 friends with the black eye… men and their egos.”

A spokesperson from Van Vorst’s agent Chadwicks would not comment on the incident.

Van Vorst tweeted this morning, “So someone just smashed my car window so they could punch my friend because he’s gay. Has the world not gotten past this yet?”

During her stint on Top Model Van Vorst earned a reputation as a trouble maker when she deviously sabotaged fellow contestant Cassi Van Den Dungen during a modelling challenge, which resulted in 16 year old Cassi throwing a tantrum and punching a wall, saying, “She’s lucky this isn’t her.”

Van Vorst came out as a lesbian about six months ago in The Sun-Herald, and said that she kissed MTV VJ Ruby Rose earlier this year, saying that “it was one of her best ever”.
