More Mardi Gras Party Line Up Revealed

Mardi Gras have released further news of this year’s party line up, confirming that the headliner for the Hordern will be world-renowned DJ Carl Cox.

Carl Cox [pictured] has worked with some of the biggest names in the business – Fatboy Slim, the Freemasons, Fedde Le Grand and Pendulum, and his regular night at Space Ibiza has been voted Best Club Night on the entire island. DJ Magazine named him the first ever number one DJ in the world, and MixMag rated him the number one DJ of the past 25 years.

Cox will be joined by gay, Italian techno and hard house DJ Dusty Kid, as well as the much loved Alan Thompson of Housexy and DTPM acclaim, and Sydney favourite Scott Pullen.

The RHI will be headlined by DJs David Guetta and Bimbo Jones, alongside local legends Dan Murphy and Jake Kilby. The Forum will feature DJs Gemma and Sveta, and will also host Australian dance pioneers Itch-e and Scratch-e – the prodigious partnership of Paul Mac and Andy Rantzen. They’ll be joined by Sydney band Chaingang, described as having “spastic energy” and “whirling Siouxie style howls”.

The Dome will be all about tribal and heavier beats, and will feature Paris’ own Leomeo, as well as Ben Drayton, Mandy Rollins and Steve Sonius.

Not really jaw dropping stuff. If ya look at all the dj's playing at Future Music Festival they could have chose from. Still in two minds as to wether to attend. Now if it was Above and Beyond I would be there in a flash.

I won't be at Mardi Gras this year, but I'm sure it's gonna be great. Mardi Gras has been very lucky with the visiting artists around festival time - good fortune is set to salvage their little scheduling bungle, which is great. I love MG.

Didnt we have a party where Carl Cox DJ'd once ??????????????? sort of remember him as dull. Anyhoo Dome is all Tribal so I know where I will be most of the night.

Yes he has been here before and was very lacklustre. Was No.1 dj in like 1997, sooo last century but I suppose fits in with Mardi Gras theme. Would have been better with Neal Crawford. Hope they don't think they will need to lock everyone out of the Hordern whilst he is on......:P

Not sure if it was a Mardi Gras ? all the parties are such a blur at times :) had a good 20 years or more of Mardi Gras parties and of the International DJ's only a handful ever got me excited. The rest just didnt seem to connect with the Sydney scene ( in my opinon ).

Carl Cox is a techno pioneer. There are many non cliche`d mainstream pop dance remix type homo's who will be relieved to have something tougher and more electronic on the line up.....
