T Shirt To Raise Funds For Charity
It’s all about t-shirts at the moment! Nat Bass has helped launch the Wear It With Pride campaign, and now Sydney street label UnNakeD has released a charity shirt in an effort to raise $22,000 to assist with the counseling and support of young members of the LGBTIQ community.
They’re hoping to sell a thousand of the t-shirts, and money raised from sales of the shirts will go to ACON’s Fun & Esteem Project.
Fun & Esteem has been providing education and services for young same-sex attracted men for over twenty years and has played a significant role in keeping the rates of HIV low amongst young gay men in NSW, while also providing other sexual health education, helping them come out, and connecting them with our GLBT community.
Monies raised from the sale of the T-shirts will allow the Project to build on its knowledge and great success in face-to-face peer education, by moving further into online spaces. Developing new programs that allow Fun & Esteem to reach more young men through this medium while maintaining our strong peer education principles is essential for the Project’s future.
The tee features a poem written by Benko Ure about Oxford Street, and is available in a range of colours and sizes. The UnNakeD boys, Andy McIntyre and Mark Rogers, want the tee to inspire people to “find inner peace with who they truly are”.
The tees can be purchased through the Dirty Launderette Concept Store or online at getunnaked.com and are RRP $49.95 for and $39.95 for women.
