South Queensland is going to heat up this weekend as Gold Coast Gay Day puts on its biggest event yet! Being held this year at the massive Parklands Show Grounds, come along and have some fun in the sun.
Mudgeeraba had been home to the event for the last few years, but with feedback from patrons about accessibility, the committee has decided the new Gold Coast Gay Day home will be at the Parklands Show-ground, home to such events as the Big Day Out and Good Vibrations. This means heaps of free parking, better access to public transport and an all weather event.
Running this Sunday, May 2, and with a percentage of the entry fees to Care For Life suicide prevention, it looks to be another huge event on the Queensland queer calendar.
The talented Kate Cook from 2009 Australian Idol is headlined to perform, along with Mish, The Rosie Burgess Trio, Terry Fitzgerald with Ruth Gardner, Big Book Fanstasy as well as a heap of stalls and other fun stuff. The day will also once again be hosted by the lovely Trixie O. Nassis and co-host Nana Rama Licious.
Gold Coast Gay Day is on May 2 at the Gold Coast Parklands Show Grounds. Entry is $12 and door open from 10 am till late.
