Perth's new sex health clinic opens

A new Men’s Sexual Health Clinic has opened in West Leederville, providing free and confidential Sexually Transmissible Infection testing and treatment services to gay and bi men.

The M Clinic is a free, non-judgemental, confidential clinic. All clinic tests include HIV, syphilis, hepatitis, gonorrhoea and chlamydia. No appointment is necessary.

“The clinic is located in a neutral setting behind St John of God Hospital, making it accessible to all men who have sex with men,” says WA AIDS Council Executive Director Trish Langdon, adding that the clinic provides men with a non-judgemental opportunity to speak openly about sexual behaviour, which leads to regular and appropriate testing practices.

The M Clinic’s Michael Atkinson tells Same Same that its first week open was busy, with over a dozen men popping in to access the testing service.

The M Clinic is housed within a small medical facility at 4/24 McCourt Street, West Leederville. Free parking is available. Drop in or call 9380 4922 to make an appointment.

Tuesday: 7am – 2.30pm
Wednesday: 1pm – 7.30pm
Thursday: 8am – 3.30pm
Friday: 8am – 3.30pm
