Another Man Accused Of Spreading HIV

In what is starting to become a very disturbing trend, yet another gay man has been arrested and is likely to be charged with reckless endangerment after knowingly infecting up to 12 people with HIV.

Stuart McDonald was detained in Glenside Hospital in SA late last week for recklessly endangering his partners, who he found through Gaydar using 3 aliases – Citaliano, City Italiano and Adel City Italiano. His profiles have now reportedly been removed from the site.

Adelaide Magistrates Court was told that, “he was indicating a reckless, if not callous, disregard for members of the community, in particular sexual partners.”

He was also dismissive about potentially infecting other men, saying “that’s their problem.”

South Australia’s Health Department Chief Executive Dr Tony Sherbon said McDonald had been cooperating in terms of who his partners have been. “If people are worried they have been in contact with someone who has not been practising safe sex, they should contact public health officers or their own doctor,” Dr Sherbon said. “It is always possible there are more victims.”

Anybody who has information, or is worried that they may have been infected can call the hotline that has been set up 08 8226 7177. The line received two calls at the weekend.

Police are yet to formally lay charges against McDonald, who will appear in court later this month.
