In what must be Q&A’s most risqué chat so far, out gay Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Cunningham says he enjoys watching porn, but dislikes the effect it has on his sex life.

“I love pornography,” he announced the live panel show, which was on Monday addressing the prevalence of porn in today’s world. “I’m gay, which probably changes the equation somewhat. I’m not watching men having sex with women, I’m watching men having sex with men.

“You know what I really hate about it? How many guys now have these kind of ‘porn personalities’ when you have sex,” The Hours scribe continued intriguingly.

“Like, you’re out with a guy and you’re having a nice time, you’re talking about whatever you want to talk about… and it’s all good, you’re having a good time, you’re having a connection.

“And suddenly, you get down to it, and he’s like ‘hey baby, get a load of this one!’ [Then I think] ‘where did that guy go?’ I actually wanted to have sex with that guy, not with some porn actor!”
