What a massive weekend lies ahead for the Brisbanites. This Saturday the Pride Rally begins at 10am at the Wickham Hotel with the Pride March that will continue to take what is suspected to be one of the largest marches to date that will finish up at Perry Park for Carnivale.

With the recent events such as the Adshel controversy, it comes as no surprise that many are getting very excited for the march and rally this Saturday. I can’t emphasise how important it is to be involved with the march this year, it is time to make our voices heard, so be sure to get your Pride on, fly your colours high and show your support for the LGBT community.

Due to this year’s Pride Fair Day being cancelled at Musgrave Park, Qnews took it upon themselves to create the one-time only Pride event Carnivale. A colourful celebration of coming together, for a day of fun, frolicking, live entertainment, carnival rides, fireworks, roving carnies and a sensory overload of everything fun. With entertainment being provided by the likes of the Bertie Page Clinic, My Cerulean Heart, A dog show with David Graham, countless DJs and other live acts, Carnivale is set to go off!

Now the fun doesn’t stop at Carnivale. The Wickham is hosting a Pride after party with Born This Way. With special guest DJ Kylie Rose, who is not only celebrating all things Pride, but also her ten year anniversary on the decks, you can bet accompanied with Wickham favourites Les Smith, Magnus and Kandi Kane, that these guys will keep you dancing right on till the sun comes up. Also clubbers will have the pleasure of seeing a performance by Brisbane’s eccentric burlesque performer Bertie Page, and a host of roving performers. The Wickham will definitely be bursting with action on Saturday night.

On the slight chance after all the fun that was the march and Carnivale that you might be feeling a little tired for the hike back to the Wickham, never fear. A free party bus will be making numerous trips as it can from 7pm at Carnivale straight down Anne St to right outside the doors of the Wickham for your very own convenience.

Now if you’re deciding to hit up the Sportsman Hotel for a bit of fun, downstairs is playing host to the Studio 69 Retro Party. The theme is Abba-singalong with shows hosted by Wanda d’Parke and DJ Retrosexual will spinning your camp favourites from the ‘70s to ‘90s. Now all that is just Saturday.

Sunday sees White Wolf go black! Yes that’s right guys, White Wolf’s theme for June is black, and with DJ duo Garcon Garcon hitting the decks, the dance floor is going to be packed to the brim all night! Oh and we can’t forget the other DJs such as Mike Evans, Jamie King, Ashley Craig, Kandi Kane and Dave Abell.

For all you fluffsters, Fluffy is holding their annual June long weekend Glam. This Sunday sees Fluffy shining with all things glamorous with headliners including DJ Havana Brown, performances by Australia’s leading showgirls Courtney Act & Vanity Faire.

Now if all this action wasn’t enough don’t forget that on Sunday Cloudland will be hosting the 50th Queen’s Ball Community awards, where each year we see the makers and shakers of the LGBT community get recognised for contribution to the community and this year this a lot of them so be sure to come along and support this landmark event in LGBT history.

Wow I’m running out of breath just typing this. The fact is, this weekend there is so much going on and it is nearly impossible for one person to fit it all in. I know a few of you gay socialites will definitely be gracing at least some if not all with your presence, so be sure to say hi and enjoy all things Pride this weekend.
