Janet Jackson is set to tour Australia for the first time in 13 years with a series of intimate concerts on her Number Ones: Up Close and Personal Tour.

The pop diva, best known for hits such as What Have You Done For Me Lately, That’s The Way Love Goes and All For You, last toured Aus to promote her album The Velvet Rope in 1998.

This time, she will play smaller venues in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and the Gold Coast in October, before finishing with two shows at Sydney Opera House.

The show will comprise exclusively songs from her chart topping CD Number Ones, and will be different in each city, promising the diva’s most intimate and revealing show ever. Fans are being warned not to look for special effects, just to “listen to and look at Janet, as you have never seen her before.”

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, August 3.

The following dates are confirmed:

Perth – October 18, Burswood Theatre.
Adelaide – October 22, Festival Theatre.
Melbourne – October 26 & 27, The Arts Centre (State Theatre).
Gold Coast – November 2, Gold Coast Convention Centre.
Sydney – November 5 & 6, Sydney Opera House (Concert Hall).

Tickets are set to start at $299.90, $199.90 and $119.90 for the cheap seats.
