Would you like to join the Australian Marriage Equality float at this year’s Mardi Gras?
Marriage equality was a major theme at last year’s Mardi Gras Parade, but the organisers of 2012’s float sat they expect it to be even bigger and better than previous years.
Australian Marriage Equality need people to help create and build their float, and march and dance on the huge parade night itself – 3 March 2012.
As many as 9,000 people are expected to make their way down Oxford and Flinders Streets in this year’s colourful, outrageous demonstration of LGBTQI pride. Cheering them on will be 300,000 spectactors lining the Darlinghurst streets to watch the glittering procession of exotic costumes and political slogans.
If you are interstate and are just flying down to Sydney for the day of the parade you will still be able to take part in the Marriage Equality float, says AME.
