The official poster for this year’s Mardi Gras Party has been unveiled – with popular drag showgal Dallas Dellaforce taking centrestage in the circus-themed image.
Shown above and below, the spliced picture is composed of both masculine and feminine imagery, brought together in a colourful composition styled by Dellaforce herself.
Here’s Dallas with her biggest fan:

The two images combine to create the completed poster…
Dellaforce says the picture was meant to evoke the spirit of Willy Wonka or the Queen of Hearts.
“I wanted this to be alluring, mysterious and fantastical, while incorporating a very fashion based aesthetic,” says the partying provocateur. “This character’s look was informed by clowns, jesters and harlequins but again taken to a more serious fashion vibe.”
Mardi Gras Party Director Damien Eames explains: “We were determined to create something that had the intensity you get from having a central character without it appealing to one single group in our community.
“It really captures Mardigrasland, our attempt to bring the magic and excitement of the Parade into our party space to create an adult theme-park for our community and friends,” he adds. “Dallas is an amazing artist, model and creative powerhouse and we’re delighted with the result.”
The Mardigrasland party is confirmed for 3 March at the Entertainment Quarter and tickets are now on sale. The Mardi Gras crew are looking forward to seeing over 15,000 punters for a night of music and acts including RuPaul, D.E. Experience, Sneaky Sound System, Chicane and Horse Meat Disco over several themed dance spaces. See more details here.
