One of the plus-sized contestants on the new season of The Biggest Loser is a single lesbian looking for a relationship, Same Same can reveal.
34-year-old Brisbane pizza shop owner Margie Cummins (pictured) will be put through her paces in the tough weight loss reality show which starts tonight on Ten.
“I’m ready to take on the high road!” says Cummins, who told the show’s crew she knew from the tender age of six that she was different and came out to her parents about being gay when she was a child.
The former elite athlete represented Queensland in Women’s Rugby League and Women’s Rugby Union, plus represented her school at swimming, shotput and touch football. But after she opened a chain of successful pizza shops, she gave up her active lifestyle and piled on the kilos.
Cummins, who shares her story on tonight’s season premiere episode, joined the show to increase her self-confidence, realizing it’s been too long since she had a date.
“I am determined and will be working hard – I won’t take this chance for granted,” she says.
The Biggest Loser, which this season focuses on single people, begins tonight (23 Jan) at 7pm and airs Mondays to Thursdays on Ten.
