Dearly loved and departed Sydney showgal Mitzi Macintosh is now working in a London drag troupe, where she was proud to honour her home country on Australia Day.

Macintosh’s show sisters shed a mascara-mingled tear as their fundraising dynamo left Sydney in May 2010. Mitzi then took a lengthy break from performing as she settled into her new life in old England.

Now returning to the stage for London’s ‘Trannyshack’ night at Madame Jojo’s in the heart of Soho, she entertained her enraptured audience with her presentation of our national anthem, and a fun medley of best-known Aussie ditties.

Comments on the YouTube clips below have warmly welcomed Macintosh back to the gay bar stage. We miss Mitzi dearly here in Sydney,” typed a viewer. “One of the best drag talents around. Happy she’s performing her brilliance to the world!”

Macintosh’s debut in the UK was no surprise to another commenter: “An artist may walk away from the canvas every now and then, but the brush never leaves their hands.”

Check out Mitzi’s shows below and burst with Aussie pride…
