Sydney Mardi Gras have just launched its very own iPhone app, giving you up-to-date details of all their events leading up to the big Parade and Party on March 3.
It’s now available free on the App Store, just search Sydney Mardi Gras or follow this link.
“With events including cabaret shows, sports carnivals, parties, academic panels, and our world famous Sydney Mardi Gras Parade and Party, the iPhone application provides an overview of the diverse, colourful and outrageous spectacular that is Sydney Mardi Gras 2012,” the Mardi Gras crew proudly tell us.
The app offers:
– The ability to search for events by title, date, keyword, venue, category or even suburb
– A ‘What’s on Today’ page so you can see what’s on every day of the festival
– Keep your mates in the loop by sharing events via email, Facebook and Twitter
– The ability to bookmark events for later by saving them to a Favourites list
– Links on all the events to where tickets can be purchased
– A venue maps function, so you never get lost on the way to an event
– A Festival News page so that you can stay up to date with all the latest news
– Check the weather in Sydney before stepping out the door
– And shake the app on any program screen for random selection!

We just downloaded the app here in the Same Same office and are very impressed. But of course we fear the wrath of neglected Android users on the comments below this story.
Sydney Mardi Gras join Melbourne’s Midsumma Festival and Adelaide’s Feast Festival which launched their first iPhone app guides last year.
But our favourite local LGBT iPhone app is still JOY 94.9’s one, which allows you to listen to Australia’s only dedicated queer radio station wherever you are.
