Sydney Mardi Gras have revealed all the details of its spectacular Harbour Party for Saturday February 25 at the Botanical Gardens overlooking the beautiful Sydney Harbour.

Yes, Harbour ‘12 is on Saturday instead of Sunday this year, but it promises to deliver the same unforgettable experience.

The crew promises a party filled with amazing DJ talent, sensational performances, cocktails al fresco, and a fireworks finale that will shower the city skyline with pride.

The line-up includes DJ Lee Dagger (Bimbo Jones), Olivian DJ, Kate Monroe, Troy Cox, Random Soul and Richard Weiss, along with performances by Paulini and more surprises.

Same Same has also been given a behind-the-scenes look at the poster’s Drag King star Rocco d’Amore, who performed alongside George Michael at the 2011 Mardi Gras Party.

Like the poster for the official 2012 Mardi Gras Party featuring Dallas Dellaforce, (see it here) the Harbour Party poster is a juxtaposition of two shots exposing two different sides to its model.

Make-up artist Glitta Supernova explains: “The first look was really minimal and androgynous, which basically required making the skin beautiful and using subtle contouring to emphasize Rocco’s already fabulous features and masculinize them slightly. I was really happy with the outcome of this. So hot!”

“The second look was the polar opposite, all glam red lips and pin-up makeup, and Rocco wore it so well. I really love character makeup and it was so satisfying to watch these characters come to life.”

The images were shot by John McRae, with styling by Tristan Coumbe, Glitta Supernova and Nikki Russell.

With the Harbour Party held on Saturday this year, party planners are keen to make the most of the party weekend and have big ideas for punters want to head someone else after the fireworks dim.
