Two very similar websites sprung up in the past week – both claiming to be created by ‘sensible’ people. Which one will YOU support?

Spot the diference…

One says “Not my children! Not on my Watch! ALP, you’ve gone too far!” –

The other says: “No more hate! Not on my watch! ALP, you haven’t gone far enough!” –

Created with the support of mischevious right-wing Christian pundit Peter Madden, stand4marriage.org.au aims to convince the reader that marriage equality is somehow bad for children.

On the site, ‘A Sensible Man’ writes: “I’m a middle aged and (now) bisexually-attracted man. I created SameSexMarriage.org.au and have also chosen to offer my support to Peter Madden.

“Homosexual marriage dethrones culture’s guardians of marriage, family and government and replaces them with a new sexual elite. The cultural reengineering will overwhelm as it has done elsewhere. If Aussies knew the flow-on effects they would fight it like a thief invading their home. We are defending this last line of defence; we and your children need your help! This nation needs honesty and courage!”

Meanwhile, over at Stand4Marriage.net, which came to our attention yesterday, kids are also in the spotlight – but don’t worry. “No children are at risk,” the site assures us.

“I’m a bi-partisan, non-political middle aged woman, the child of straight parents,” says ‘A Sensible Woman’ on the pro-equality site. “I created stand4Marriage.net and also chose to support Australian Marriage Equality because this is an important battle.

“When it is won, the cultural and social liberation will be overwhelming. AME and I know what all activists also know: if Aussies knew the flow-ons from same-sex marriage, they would fight FOR IT to ensure a world free of discrimination.It only strengthens culture’s guardians of marriage, family and government and then grants equality for all people and relationships. As a human being we are not amateurs at fighting for our rights, we have been doing this for tens of centuries. All our children need your help to live in a world free of discrimination and hate!!”
