We love a bit of cake. The Bobby Goldsmith Foundation’s annual fundraising baked goods auction returns this Sunday with more sweet treats!

You’re invited to enter your amazing baking as drag queen MC Verushka Darling gets set to host, with this year’s Bake-Off judges including Claire de Lune, Shauna Jensen* and Sydney Convict Masterchef contestant Kevin Perry.

There’ll be a live auction of cakes and even the chance to bid on a range of exciting experiences and items including access to a super luxury chalet in Queenstown NZ in peak season.

HIV support network the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer David Riddell says he’s delighted to welcome back the Bake-Off for its 25th anniversary year. It’s Sydney’s longest-running annual LGBT community event, and is still a highlight of the city’s social calendar.

“It’s the Bake-Off’s silver anniversary year,” Riddell says. “BGF is excited about this year’s event which promises fun and an opportunity to support for our clients in equal measure.”

“It started as a community event by friends with a focus on fun and fundraising and it remains that way today.”

Last year’s Bake-Off raised an impressive $30,377, with the proceeds going towards improving the quality of life for men, women and children with HIV.

Check out all Same Same’s fun photos from last year’s Bake-Off below.

Doors open for 2012’s Bake-Off at 2pm this Sunday June 3 at Slide on Oxford Street. There’s more details below and on the BGF website here.
