JOY invites you to ‘Join the JOYride!’ by coming along to its massive radiothon launch and becoming a member of the LGBT radio station between 2-8 June.

Since being granted a full time broadcasting licence back in 2001, JOY continues to play an integral role of advocacy, education, information and of course entertainment. Based in Melbourne Victoria, it is Australia’s only full time licenced queer radio broadcaster – one of few such broadcasters in the world. That’s quite an achievement considering that this 24 hour life line of the community is a volunteer run and not for profit organisation.

Its main fundraising event of the year, and the integral fund drive that enables the station to survive and grow, radiothon is your chance to support this community life line that supports and entertains you 24hours a day, 365 days a year, nation wide and around the world.

The JOY 94.9 Radiothon is on from 2-8 June, and the Radiothon launch party is on Friday 1 June from 6:30pm at DnM Bar and Nightclub (119 Commercial Road South Yarra.)

Hosted by your favourite JOY presenters at Commercial Road venue, DnM, the radiothon party is set to feature a variety of entertaining guest performers including Empire Live, Luke Gallagher, Jade Leonard, comedian Bobby McCumber, cabaret superstar Tina Del Twist and Australia’s got Talent 2006 winner, Bonnie Anderson, just to name a few, all for a gold coin donation.
