So says Melbourne YouTuber Tom, whose annoyed reaction to a recent speech against same-sex marriage by Labor MP for Reid John Murphy is proving to be a viral hit, appearing on blogs and gay news websites across the globe in recent hours.

Murphy told Parliament this Monday that he opposes same-sex marriage, as he believes marriage simply serves to legally connect “mothers and fathers and their children, and holding biological parents accountable for raising their children.”

It’s not the first time Murphy has spoken up against marriage equality. Last year he was rejecting it as a “non issue”, then suggesting it be put to a Referendum which he believed would fail.

Murphy now adds: “Some supporters of same-sex marriage were downright abusive and intolerant of my view, and made it clear that they will never vote for me unless I support their view.

“I have found that most of the support for same-sex marriage has come from people who are heterosexual, particularly young people, including teenagers, who have abstract and less developed notions of equality based on inexperience.” Charming.

But if that wasn’t enough, Tom is particularly incensed by another comment Murphy made in his latest speech.
