Sydney’s Bear Pride 2012 is on its way, this year bringing you eight woofy events over five fun days and nights.

From Wednesday August 1 until Sunday August 5, Harbour City Bears will be hosting a series of events for bears, cubs, daddies and admirers.

Now in its third year, Bear Pride has always had a focus on food and the bears will be well catered for with yummy comfort food from Smash Sausage Kitchen on the evening of Wednesday, August 1.

Another highlight will be a live performance with bear troubadour Eric Kuhlmann kicking off the world tour of his autobiographical alt-cabaret show Red Light Songs of Lust, Love and Death at the Oxford Hotel Supper Club on August 2.

Bear Pride will bring in the weekend with a stroll through Chinatown Night Market at 5pm before descending on the Oxford Hotel again for special retro edition of Furry Fridays on Friday August 3.

For its third year, Bear Pride has its own film festival, this year over two days with two Australian premieres BearCity 2 on Saturday, August 4 at 2pm, and I Want Your Love on Sunday, August 5 at 2pm, both at Govindas cinema on Darlinghurst Road.

The climax of Bear Pride is the new Bear Pit party on Saturday night, the first time Harbour City Bears has presented one of their legendary parties at the Imperial Hotel with Sydney DJs Bolt, Colin Gaff and Melbourne’s Kam Shafaati.

Then there’s no better way for a bear to recover than a jug of beer and a roast spit and the friendly company of the Lord Roberts Hotel for a special edition of Bears on Sunday, August 5 from 4pm.
