So the rumours were true… the actress behind Jessica Fletcher, Auntie Mame, Mrs. Potts and Miss Price is coming to grace the Aussie theatre stage.

Angela Lansbury is coming to Brisbane in 2013 with equally as famous James Earl Jones – The voice of Darth Vader and Mufasa – in Brisbane’s Driving Miss Daisy, set to open in February next year.

Lansbury is warmly remembered for her long-lived TV role as super-sleuth Jessica Fletcher from Murder She Wrote. She also played Auntie Mame from the original Broadway production or Miss Price from Bedknobs and Broomsticks and more recently Mrs. Potts from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

In what can only be described as a total coup, QPAC will house the famous duo through February for their only Australian performances.

It is not often that Australia gets to see what is considered Hollywood royalty performing in a well known and much loved stage play.

Lansbury has worked with literally everyone from Spencer Tracy, Ingrid Bergman, Orson Wells, Paul Newman, Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, Colin Firth, Jim Carey and Catherine Zeta-Jones…you name them she’s worked with them.

Tickets for this limited production go on sale August 13th and will be available only through qpac.com.au.

The trailer for the classic 1989 film Driving Miss Daisy is shown below.
