We’re throwing a gay indie night in Sydney this Thursday and you’re invited.
Same Same and The Standard have teamed up to bring you the sparkliest, glitter filled indie music event of the year, with an all-amazing cast of artists.

We hope you’ll join us for Sweet Tooth, featuring some of the strongest voices in a new generation of songwriting. We’ve got singer, songwriter, radio host, actor and Twitter star Brendan Maclean and Oxford St darlings Jack Colwell & The OWLS headlining.
On the rise Electro-Pop act Caution Forces will be joined by Maclean for a new and improved electro tweak of his already critically acclaimed single, Only Only – an answer to Lady GaGa’s Telephone.
Check out Brendan Maclean’s video for Only Only below.
A classically-trained composer from Sydney’s Conservatorium of Music, turned alternative pop-star, Jack Colwell recently released his debut album, Picture Window.
Often compared to Patrick Wolf and Nick Cave, Colwell’s performances are dramatic, colourful, energetic, and often confronting.
Here’s Jack Colwell & The Owls’ video for Captain’s Melody:
We’ve also been lucky enough to confirm Triple J Song Summit competition winner Julia & The Deep Sea Sirens, who recently knocked around some tunes with Gotye.
Expect enchanting, beguiling tunes like this:
New Zealand’s MTV award winning songstress Ruby Frost completes our line-up. Making waves in her native Auckland, the world was quick to wake up to Frost’s unique and arresting voice – she’s been travelling Australia and the US recently to play festivals and showcases.
Ruby is certainly one to watch, and you can be among the first to see her sing live. Here’s Water to Ice:
So don’t miss this amazing mix of up-and-coming acts.
Same Same presents Sweet Tooth this Thursday August 30 at The Standard, Level 3, 383 Bourke Street, Surry Hills. Tickets $10 at door – arrive 7pm, and first act will get started at 7:30pm.
