The Aurora Group is encouraging local LGBT community organisations to apply for its grants of up to $5,000 each.

Applications for Aurora’s small grants funding for 2011-2012 are now open and close at 5pm on Friday 19 October 2012. Up to $40,000 in small grants will be awarded to successful community organisations.

Last year’s recipients included Joy 94.9FM program The Commitment Project; The Gender Centre program Transtopia; The Benevolent Society program Fostering Young Lives; Regional Youth Support Service – GenQ; Queerscreen program The Queer Screen Community Screen Content Initiative; and ACON Health – Lesbian & Gay Anti Violence Project.

Aurora’s community grants are made possible by Aurora’s donors, giving program members, event patrons and partners. Interested community members can support Aurora by joining Aurora’s regular giving program or making a once off donation at www.auroragroup.com.au. All donations over $2 are tax deductible, and 100% of which goes to the charities and projects that Aurora supports.
