It’s only October but Sydney is already turning its attention to the biggest night of the year, when global attention is on our gorgeous harbour city as it welcomes the New Year.
The NYE Harbour Party at Luna Park has now confirmed its musical line-up for the 31 December spectacular – Luciana, Ricki-Lee, The Ashton Shuffle, Marvin Priest and Ivan Gough, one half of local dance duo TV Rock. They’ll join a variety of retro, house, techno and electronic music DJ’s and more guests to be announced.
The party’s Luna Park setting means you can enjoy all the famous rides all night long for free, and you’ll also have an amazing view of the 9pm and midnight fireworks, plus there’ll be bars dotted all over the fully-licensed venue.
Tickets will go on sale next week – fine more details here.
Excitingly, the creative ambassador for this year’s New Year’s Eve is Kylie Minogue, who has revealed an ‘Embrace’ theme for welcoming 2013.
“Kylie will be working alongside some of Australia’s best creative talent – exploring the theme, music, colour scheme and style for this year’s event, which will be used throughout the promotional campaign, on banners to dress the city and, of course, the ultimate Midnight Fireworks Display,” says City of Sydney.
Kylie’s theme is represented by the Embrace icon – a swirl of coloured sails in magenta, yellow, purple and red, which is marked with her signature K.

And following the sold-out success of October long weekend’s big gay party Daywash, the New Year’s Daywash for 1 January 2013 at Chinese Laundry has now been confirmed, and tickets are already selling well. Find details below.
