Now listen to me, sonny jim. When I was a lass there was no such thing as the internet. People used to correspond by sending a hand written note. Golly, I even had one or two "Pen Pals"!!
The hip young things told me I needed to get jiggy with it nanna, or You Too will be seen as the dreaded Technophobe. So here I am, in all my glory.
In between banjo plucking and moonshine making, I don't mind to dust off those odd oblong shaped relics otherwise known as books. My current favourie author is a young yankee rascal called Augusten Burroughs...he is quite the story teller.
No moonlight walks along the beach for this chick, and you can keep your pina coladas too, I prefer a cuppa thankyou very much.
I enjoy my life as it is, however there's always room for icing on the teacake of life.
That'll do for now. I'll go back to my Bo Diddley. Hooroo.
Interests
chatting to huntsman spiders which come into the house, my current fella is fred, he is quite watchful, oh and I try to read but the meds scramble my brain, concentrating is a bitch, Otherwise people watching over a coffee and a cig from a cafe, I do enjoy people contact, it depends on how well I am as to whether the enjoyment is mutual, i can be quite exasperating, basically i am a loner and have been told by professionals its likely to stay that way, i do have some friends, but they keep an arms length from me which i try to respect and generally do, If I get sufficiently filled with self pity and rage I am prone to drink to excess hence i try not to drink and generally am successful at that with the help of others, Writing has helped me fashion some modicum of self esteem and I do it sporadically, One day I'll get serious about it, but being published is not my aim, the therapy to spill out the stories is the healing, like my hero Augusten Burroughs, although he doesn't take meds (at least I think not), That's enough, Hooroo,
, Note 2/1/10, I now have a handful of friends whom I love a lot, they have been with me through good and bad the past year, I have fallen for a girl who didn't love me back and that's ok now, I have learned to respect others and also not getting my way, I'm nearly 2 years sober and life is looking up, I've lost 12 kilos and walk most days, I don't spend half the amount of time I used to on the internet, sorry to those people who messaged me and I didn't respond, I've just been getting on with living in a way that doesn't involve my computer, Peace and happiness to you, )

Throw the name of the writer Augusten Burroughs into conversation and you’ll get one of two responses - blank faces, or total rabid fandom. He spoke to Same Same about his book A Wolf At The Table, a memoir of growing up with a sociopathic father.
