Hi there, I'm the National Editor of Same Same.

Same Same's strength lies in our points of difference. Our philosophy is a much broader understanding of what gay is and can be in today's world.

Being gay is only part of our lives, but it's an important part. Unlike so much of the gay media landscape, our content is not driven by tittilation and sex. We're intelligent, yet cheeky. We look at the darker issues but we don't mind the lighter ones too. We're about the bigger picture. We look beyond the "ghetto", but we're also glad that it's there. We're not afraid to present a number of conflicting points of view. We encourage debate. We seek to assist, enlighten and inspire.

In a short amount of time Same Same has already achieved so much. We've launched the Same Same 25 - an initiative that is not only about generating positive gay news stories, but is also about recognising the people in our community who use their influence to do good. We've chatted to some of the biggest names in the biz - Tori Amos, Boy George, Margaret Cho, Kathy Griffin, Scissor Sisters, The Freemasons, Dannii Minogue, Belinda Carlisle and Pet Shop Boys. We're curious - in our quest for the answers to difficult questions we've even broken bread with the God Hates Fags church, chatting regularly with Shirley Phelps-Roper.

Editorially, we've thrown light on some really important and fascinating issues - everything from gay life in prison to the ex-gay movement, from fashion to faghags and everything in between. It's been very exciting and rewarding watching our contributors take opportunities and run with them - we've got a very special, talented team and we love working with each and every one of you.

We want Same Same to be reflective of everyone's lives out there. We want to connect people and urge the community to start using the internet in a brand new way - a place for debate, expression and ultimately a place where we can unite both in here and more importantly, in the real world.

We want to give everyone a voice and yes, that includes you.
